Assalamualaikum and hello to all.
I know that I have not update my blog for a verrrrryyyyyy looooooooooooooonggggg timeeee..... Well, to be honest, i dont know why. Kan ku cakap nada time, I've got loads of free time. No resources / nothing to write?? I've got stories to tell, pictures to post and etc etc.
Anyway, no use blabbering the nonsense. haha. I'd like to start by Congratulating my older brother, Along, on his graduation on the 3rd of September 2008, attaining a Second Class-Upper in MEng Chemical Engineering (MEng = Masters in Engineering) from one of the top Universities in UK, University College London (UCL). Congrats long!!! Im prod of you. ^_^
So, What have I been doing lately? Lets start from June, after my exams. On the 20th untill 28th of June 2008, Along, Myself, Yasam, and Baby Pol went to....*wait for it..* NEW YORK!!!!! yes, you read it right. New York, USA baby. I would say that its like a dream come true. I would have never imagined to go to NY in ten years!! well, probably after saving loads of $$$$$$$ from work perhaps. I will have a separate post for NY (Insya-Allah) and pictures will be included =). To cut it short, the trip was fun, exciting all the wayy!!! hehehehehee..
Back from New York means back to UK a.k.a back to loughborough. While back in the borough, I had to clear out my room and move to another room as I will be living with Azizul in the new academic-and-insyallah-final year 08-09. After the move-out, I went to London and went sightseeing again with Yasam and Baby Pol. Despite being 3 years in UK, there are still loads of places that needs to be uncovered and visited. So, jalan2 tah kami ke hulu, ke hilir, kesana, kemari, kesitu and kesini untill bisdia balik ke Brunei. We went to Camden st, Prison Museum, Market (sumwhere near knightsbridge??) and this old hospital (also nearby the market) which used to be a hospital and is now a museum showing the surgical methods from the 70's and 80's. Scary! trust me, you'd feel lucky not to be born during those pre-anesthetic period. :s
Then, I'm back in the borough once again. By then, it was already half way through July and Rahman's and Ejay's Graduation falls on 14th of July. Congratulations to both of them for finally getting their Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering and I'm sure they are now job-hunting. Goodluck to you both! :) A few days later, its Saifullah's turn and again, I attended his graduation ceremony in Birmingham. Hahaha sanggup, but oh well, he's a great friend anyway.
P/s: during both graduation, I was their "official" photographer.
Okay, once both graduation ended, its back to normal, i.e in the borough. My June exam results are out. Sadly, my average mark wasn't enough for me to proceed to MEng. I need an average of 55% but I only manage to get 50.9%! *sigh* its only 4.1% more nyamu!! The thing is, I kinda expected that to happen. Stuff happened during my third year in Uni and to summarise it all, I wasn't in my best of conditions. To be honest, I predicted even worse. hahaha. I had to fill in the "SAP" (Special Assessment Period) form and I retook 5 modules: Management, Avionics, Composites, Flight Contol System and Mechanical Vibrations. And so, I ended up managing my notes for the rest of July.
August starts with a blast when Me and Saiful Hazmi went to the British Motorshow on its last exhibition day, 3rd of August 2008. Well, thats the 2nd time that we went there. The 1st time was sometime in July with, Rahman, Along and (whats his name). Rahman and I went to London because Rahman had to "report" to BSU etc and we departed loughborough at 12am-ish and back at around 1am-ish. A one-whole-day journey. Ngalih yaw! hahahaha salah sapa nah mem-book National Express ticket during those times?? hahahahaa The fist time we all went to the motorshow, we only took pictures of the displayed car. Nothing more, nothing less. Then the second time I went there (with sai haz) the first thing yg kami aga was the "Drift Experience Club". Yes, we went DRIFTING baby!! It costs us £17.50 per person. (£10 for the actual drifting and £7.50 for our in-car drift experience!) It was well worth it. ^_^
The rest of the August was spent rather lazily. No commitments whatsoever untill my SAP resit timetable came out. Barutah kan betungkus lumus start belajar. Hahahahahaa shit. Basically, I started my SAP revisions one solid week before exams. My exams were on:
28/8----Management
29/8----Composites
1/9------Avionics
4/9------FCS
5/9------Mech Vibrations
Management was okay-ish. Its the first paper I sat and actually finished it in 27 minutes!! thats my own personal record. :):) Composites was a bit hard :s mudahan saja dapat the required mark. Amin. Puasa Falls on the 1st of September in UK, the very same day as my FCS exams. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect on that day. I thought that I would not make my fast to dusk and that I had to break my fast early. I even considered not to fast for that day. It was that bad, but, Alhamdulillah I made it :):):)
Along's graduation as mentioned above was on the 3rd of Sept and my the rest of my family came to London all the way from Brunei on the 31st of August. I did not pick them up. Maklumlah ada exam the next day. I went down to London on the 2nd, stayed there for a night, and then back to loughborough the very next day (3rd sept) after Along's graduation ceremony. I felt bad leaving my family right after his graduation ceremony and after taking some pics, but, what can I do? FCS exam is n the very next day. Begagas tah ke bh, take my stuffs and head to St Pancras Intl to go to Loughborough. Sampat jua saya beli Starbuck's grande white caffe mocha *yumm* for sungkai/iftar dalam train!! hahaha.
I was well knackered upon arrival in the borough, nasib jua Uncle Pg Sofhrin mau menulung to pick me up from the train station and send me home. That night was something. My initial plan was to pull an all nighter but, it dint happen as I ended up sleeping till 6 am. No sahur and No revision done since I got back to loughborough. That was one of my worst ever exam situations. With only 8hr to my FCS exams, I did all I could but, I know for sure that my results wont be as good as I had hoped. Then that night I pulled an all nighter, this time its for real :). My Mech Vibrations exams went okay. Alhamdulillah. As a result, I played badminton with Fahmi, Azwan and Khalid from 5-7pm ( just before sungkai yo!!! hahahahaha)
Well, I'm at my limit now. I will update this post some other time.
